Anthony N. Sgrillo, Sr.

Anthony N. Sgrillo Sr. (Papa T) passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 15, 2019 in Ocean Pines, MD. He was born July 12, 1926 in Waterbury, Ct. Anthony lived a long and prosperous life. An Air Force Veteran, lithographer, gardener, an amazing cook but most of all a wonderful father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

The world lost an amazing man. The love he had mirrored in his eyes, a love so strong, that not even in death can break. His laughter and smile beamed as bright as the sun while warming the lives of many. Tony was a man who could do anything, he was a man who did everything for his family. Tony represented the true meaning of unconditional love and support. A gentle man who never worried, he would tell us to relax, take it easy, and calm down. He often said he loved every part of his life; his wife and his children were his world.

He was happiest walking the shores of Milford and Ocean beach, making wine, Sunday dinners with family and friends, making sauce and his famous meatballs, dancing, drawing, eating seafood, listening to music and of course telling stories.

He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rochella Sgrillo, his wife Mary, his son Joseph, and 9 siblings. He leaves behind 7 children; Laureen and Paul, Linda, Anthony Jr. and Alison, CarolAnn and Frank, Mark, Marybeth and Michael, and Joanne and Timothy. His grandchildren; Shannon and Eric, Myriah and Matthew, Jennifer and David, Stephen and Samantha, Julia, Brittany, Chelsea, Tyler, Bethany and Garey, Jessica and Rob, and Matthew and Kielene. His great grandchildren; Nathaniel, Lily, Devon, Eric Jr, Christina, Alex, Jayden, Avayana, Gianna, Maribella, Isabella, and Skyla. Gone but not forgotten, until we see each other again, all of our love…I know Dad, too much.

Always and Forever in our hearts are the men and women who cared for our Dad, our extended family at The Macky & Pam Stansell House Coastal Hospice. Their unconditional pledge of care was filled with love and sincerity and must continue on so we ask, in lieu of flowers, please make donations in Tony’s name to: Coastal Hospice.
