Steven Paul Bruch, age 56, of Salisbury, MD, passed away Wednesday December 25, 2019, at Peninsula Regional Hospital combatting liver cancer, leukemia and lymphoma.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Steve was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Horne) Bruch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew Dustin Bruch and niece Jessica Bruch.
A devoted father, Steve is survived by his children Robert Bruch and Kathryn Bruch, Salisbury, MD. Spouse (separated) Kelly Ann (Cordrey). Step-children Adrienne Karnai of Wilmington, DE Toby Donoway of Glassboro, NJ and Chad Donoway of Salisbury, MD and Pop-Pop to several step grandchildren. Siblings Karen M Bruch (Fred French) of Windsor Mill, MD, Robert L. Bruch, Jr. (Ellen) of Salisbury, MD and Gary L. Bruch of Fruitland, MD. Also surviving are a niece Morgan Alexander (Barouh)and nephew Gabriel Barouh.
Steve was the youngest of 4 children, living in Kennett Square, PA and Annapolis, MD before the family settled and built their home in Hebron MD. He attended schools there and played football for Bennett High School in Salisbury. Steve loved things fast and had no fear of heights. He was an iron worker for the past 35 years and was quite proud of many of the projects he had worked on, in and around the area. Hardworking, dependable, extremely loyal and admired by his co-workers at Evans Builders, he will be sorely missed.
Steve was the funny guy, loved to make others laugh at his antics, sarcasm and self-deprecating humor. He loved to bake and was the family pie maker for all the holidays. Generous to a fault, there was nothing he wouldn’t do to help someone in their time of need.
He lived life hard and to its fullest, as a father, brother, uncle and friend he will be deeply missed.
At Steve’s request, he was cremated and there will be no immediate service.
