Obituary of Michael David Reilly
Michael David Reilly, 72, of Ocean View, Delaware, passed away in his home, on July 3rd, 2020, after a battle with cancer. He was a “Conch” born on March 25, 1948 in Key West, Florida, son to the late Copeland and Joseph Reilly.
Michael leaves his current wife, Patti, a Stepson, Terence “Dale” Sutton, an MPD Officer in DC (wife Kimberly Gubisch) of Laurel, MD and his faithful dog “Jaxon”.
Michael married Susan Reilly in 1966. They had two daughters, Rebecca Chesshir (husband Jeff) and Christine Reilly. They all live in Texas at this time. He also left one Granddaughter, Courtney Cuellar, a beautiful young lady. In Florida he loved fishing and boating.
Michael was a General Contractor in Florida and then in Maryland. He was a carpenter by trade. He owned HRW Construction Company in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
He also leaves his brother, Patrick Reilly (wife Carol), of Orange Park, Florida along with their children, Michele Lucado daughter and granddaughter Hailey, Stephanie Smith daughter and her sons Christopher Smith, Bethany (wife), and his two daughters, Layne Smith , Haley(wife) and his daughter and son.
He had four other half-brothers, John Reilly and his wife with two children, David Reilly and his wife with two children and two grandchildren, Paul Reilly (deceased) and Steven Reilly and one half-sister, Tori Reifenburg (husband John) and their two sons. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Joseph Reilly and his Step-Mother Euldine Reilly. He leaves many cousins in Moundsville and Martinsburg, West Virginia.
He also leaves a slew of family on his current wife’s side to include Cathy & Scott Goodman (of Germantown, MD and Ocean View, DE, his niece, Cierra Goodman (a favorite), Scott, Desi & Asher Goodman (of Germantown, MD), Janey Dugan (of Ocean View, DE), Brian Pletcher, Tyler Pletcher, Crystal Pletcher, Cornel Jackson, Kyla Jackson (of Frederick, MD) and many more cousins and lifelong friends.
Michael was a Life-Time Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Gaithersburg, Maryland and at one time a Bartender there. He also was an active participant at the Eagles Club in Millville, Delaware. He made a lot of friends at the Clubs and will be deeply missed by all of them.
There will be no services due to the current Covid19 situation. He will be cremated at Eastern Shore Cremation and Funeral Service.
The family extends a sincere thanks to Seasons Hospice for their great care and amazing team that came to house to care for Michael. Also, to the supportive friends and neighbors for the love and kindness they have shown during these difficult times.
